The DFL-500 offers the flexibility to dry coat, foil, or laminate digitally-printed applications with ease. For dry coating, DFL-500 utilizes a ceramic thermal roller and heat control system to apply the film over the sheet. Matte and gloss lamination can be used, providing an added-value layer of protection that also helps spot coating embellishments stand out. For toner foiling, the DFL-500 applies adhesive foil anywhere black toner is printed without the use of dies. Foiling on top polymer can also be done for a raised foil effect.

The DFL-500 utilizes a specially designed formulated film that applies full coverage on a full sheet of paper. The gloss film has two layers, the top and a bottom layer adhesive. When the film runs through the heat roller, the adhesive is melted and applied to the sheet. Dry coating can substitute a traditional UV coating machine as it is much easier to clean and use without the hassle of cleaning hoses and rollers.
DFL-500 is quick and efficient. It produces professionally “printed” foiled documents for an impressive and high quality appearance. Without the need of investing in individual foil stamp dies, the DFL-500 uses a unique adhesive foil that sticks onto the toner used in most presses. Speed and heat settings can be adjusted to let users customize the machine to the need of their specific application for more versatility.
It automatically feeds, laminates and separates digital prints with no user intervention required. The heated rollers allow for crystal clear, scratch free lamination. It comes equipped with a side trimmer to cut the width of the film and an automatic side-to-side flying knife separator system, which allows the use of both OPP and PET-based films, for precise flush cutting and overlap. It also comes standard with a dust removing system and a de-curling system which are only seen on more expensive, high production laminators.
